Jamais la
course au fric n’aura commencé aussi tôt et aussi fort dans une élection
présidentielle américaine. Pas un jour sans une conférence, dîner, ou gala au
profit d’un des prétendants de 2008. Les Clinton, maîtres en la matière, ont encore
réussi à renouveler le genre. Jeudi, Bill ira parler politique de santé dans une salle de
gym de Manhattan à des New Yorkais pédalant sur des vélos d’appartement. Le
prix de la location de vélo pour ce cours spécial : 2300 dollars. (A ce prix là, est-ce qu'il ne vaut mieux pas acheter un vélo avec des roues ?)
Curieusement, ces
cours où l’on pédale sur des vélos sans roue s’appellent « spinning » ,
tout comme l’art en politique de marteler un même message quels que soient les
faits.

Personnellement, si je devais dépenser 2300 dollars pour voir Bill Clinton, je préférerais ne pas être en survêtement mais porter quelque chose de plus flatteur.

J'ai lu les compte-rendus des journaux de ce matin : il parait que jamais les participantes de cours de gym n'avaient été aussi maquillées et parfaitement coiffées. L'une d'elles a expliqué qu'on leur avait donné des grands t-shirts avec des messages politiques pour cacher leurs panoplies en lycra "pour pas qu'on soit trop sexy".
